Ammcollect, that Buff has definitely been around the block. I've never seen a PO-01 Buffalo and I'm not sure that would even be possible?!

Quote: Not so good as yours, but my best lowball. Not sure if it could be po-01. It dateless but anyway everyone here can say what year was on it. Usually, a coin must be identifiable by not just type, but also by year and mintmark. So technically we can't call it a true lowball :( This would be considered basal state. But the buffs are such a perfectly beautiful design that even in basal they are to be enjoyed! The think about buffaloes is the date was placed in the high point of the design, so it was the first thing to wear off. A P.O.-1 would be a rare find, even AG with a date is getting scarce.

Quote: but anyway everyone here can say what year was on it ...wait, it's an 1924, isn't it? Pretty sure I'm seeing that type of ribbon... Quote: Great Britain penny, date barely discernible as 1868. You sure that's a 8? Looks more like 1860 to me... (Awesome penny, though!)

Quote: I guess these first two don't qualify as lowballs because the dates are gone Doesn't look very gone on the first one. Nice 1866 nickel! (Might well still be identifiable on the quarter, too; looks like 1920 to me? A close-up photo would help.) My own With Rays Shield nickel is much more worn... the date really is gone on it, however.

Quote: Here's a pair of Canada 25¢ pieces - One of the problems with lowball Canadian coinage of this general type is that the date is very often what's totally obliterated first. On this duo, fortunately they're still readable. Nice pair!

What do you think of this one? Would you consider submitting it for certification (asking essentially whether it has a realistic shot at a Poor-1 grade)?

This half dollar is a great looking coin!
The obverse I think pulls an P01. The full eagle a little of all the letters still showing might keep the reverse at F02.
I'm not confident they label this a P01, but it's got a chance and certainly eye appeal.
