Box 16: no silver. One Buffalo nickel, very corroded & dateless. One hole filler, a 1948-S. A total of 35 pre-1960 nickels. Nothing else was special. |

Latest box yielded a 48-S for me as well! That's a key date with low mintage. Also pulled some nice BU's including the 1959.

phil5280 - you from Denver? I just moved from there. anyway, my 48-S had a reverse caked in a cement-like gum. It came off in acetone, but the coin does have a ring around where the gum was, unfortunate for such a nice date.

what condition is the 1921-S buffalo in? (I'm not good with grading buffalos).

That buffalo looks in between AG3 and G4 to me.

I posted it in the grading forum, and people were split between G4 and G6. I'd call it G4 myself, the date is a more clear in hand than the picture. Somebody over at the treasurenet forum found a '14-D recently, so semi-key buffaloes aren't quite unprecedented, although his was just a partial date.

Yeah the date has too much detail for AG3. I'd say it sticks in a solid G4.

Box #35 down no silver-35/30 30 silver 1 buffalo-1926 acid dated came that way no proofs no V's Dates: 1942 CuNi, Partial steps 1939, BU 1962 This box had 18 marked nickels with an "X" on the back of the dirtiest ones. I only found a few pre-60's, but I manage to pull the '39 and the '62. This guy had searched this box before. Nice find on the 1921-S Cap'n!  |

Lifetime box number 52 yielded the 1950-D. It is in terrible shape and I would grade it a G at best - but I'll take it! SWEET!

great job on the 21 S wiffo I have also found a Cud just like yours and saw one go for sale on the site for around 10-15 dollars or so back in the day. I can't quite remember. Anyway, I completed a box today and pulled 23 1950's 10 40's 2 39 P 1 1944 P SILVER 1 1964 canadian 1 Wheat penny completely corroded without a date 1951 P that was in great shape as well that was an upgrade from what I had. 5 holes still |
