Mary Somerville, the famous Scottish scientist, astronomer and mathematician, is depicted on the current £10 note issued by the Royal bank of Scotland: A pioneer astronomer, she also wrote a book on Physical Geography in 1848 that was used as a standard reference work for 60 years. A campaigner for equal rights for women, she received many honors in her lifetime, and seevn years after her death a college in Oxford was named after her.

There is an interesting social media article on this subject below: https://www.visualcapitalist.com/cp...n-banknotes/-which a collector who goes by @BasSWarwick shared over at CT. Reading it made me think of how Ivette Kovacs missed the "famous 5" & Therese Casgrain featured on the reverse of the Bank of Canada's Journey $50: I don't collect Canadian $50 so this is a screenshot I picked off from the Banknote Museum.

Recently picked up this Belgian Congo note.. I really dig the artwork and design and like that it's dimensions are different than the other notes in my collection.. and of course because it has a woman on it :)

Those 20 kronor notes are quite nice, @NumisRob. I've got a couple in my wallet, and there they seem to stay forever, since cash is so rarely used nowadays (I think they have been laying there since 2018 .).
In case you wonder about the map on the reverse: It shows the provinces of Sweden, with Småland highlighted, the province where Astrid grew up and to where she returns in some of her literary works.
