1989 Quarter With Circle Face - Coin Community Forum

Bond New Member United States 3 Posts	Posted 02/03/2016 10:27 am I am not a collector but I saw this circle on the face of the quarter and thought I would inquire. The edges of the circle are not shiny like it was stamped in recently. What are your thoughts? Report this Post to the Staff

seal006 Pillar of the Community United States 1915 Posts	Posted 02/03/2016 11:16 am Roller damage from a coin rolling machine. That damage was most likely caused by the crimper. The part that crimps the ends of bank wrapped rolls. Report this Post to the Staff
BigSilver Pillar of the Community United States 2843 Posts	Posted 02/03/2016 11:17 am He is referring to the machine that banks (and other financial institutions) use to put the coins in the paper rolls. They crimp the ends of the rolls and that often results in damage to the exposed ends of the end coins. Report this Post to the Staff
