Quote:Current BIN: CAD 999 with Free Shipping and Best Offer (well, almost reasonable price to start with) ebay Item ID = 252561581958 well...this is in the past. Now we are really close to the Start line, when after midnight some Silver Dollars will be released (for issue?) from multiple sources. The prices on ebay dropped again: CAD 880 + Free Sipping + Best OfferItem ID on ebay = 252561581958Basically happened, that sellers undercutting each other. None of the coins sold.

Thanks New1954. I know that you will enjoy owning this exquisite set as much as I and a fair number of other collectors.

Quote: I think the discussion trend implies that purchasing the 6-coin subscription is a mistake, that is, the only good investment is in the SD You are mixing here 2 assumptions: "the discussion trend implies that purchasing the 6-coin subscription is a mistake"No If you like the Alex Colville's art and have a budget - buy entire set and enjoy it. Btw, year ago was another subscription : "Tribute to Nickel" , so if you like the 1967 design, will you buy all sub, or single coin will be enough? "the only good investment is in the SD"The people who think this way, imo, are correct. Here you speak about investment, and expensive set - very bad investment, while one popular coin, for sure able to bring some return for re-sellers. In the worst case to sell single coin for 50% from issue easier than loose thousand on all the set.

Those ebay sellers priced it way too high, nobody was going to pay $2000 for one coin when they could put that towards the whole set.

Interestingly, Gatewest Coins has 2 Goose coins to choose from:
#17851 - Large Case with 5 oz Canada Goose #17850 - 5 oz Canada Goose
No mention of subscription. So, does that mean you can get a free wooden case without subscribing?
If that was the case, which coin would you choose:
#1851 - With Case $1850 - Without Case but with Maroon clamshell.

I think it's a mistake. According to the Specs, both coins come with Maroon Clamshell case.
Maybe the person who listed these considers the maroon clamshell case to be big, compared with the usual ones...lol

@Silveroid
You confuse my stated motive. I bought the series because I liked it due in part to Alex Colville design. I did not buy to 'resell'. In fact in all the years of collecting coins, I have yet to resell a single coin. If the investment does retain its value over the long term, great, but otherwise the main motive is to own what is an exquisite set.
Where I make money is in equities, mutual funds. A lot easier to do so if that is your prime motive than chasing down a coin only to go through hassle of trying to sell it shortly after.
