UltraRant Pillar of the Community Norway 1358 Posts	Posted 11/02/2016 03:31 am Halloween has only been a thing here in the last few years, perhaps due to the sudden need of the shops to find another reason to sell a lot of unnecessary stuff. We never had it and we used to have a similar tradition here called 'julebukking', which is held between Christmas and New Year's, which has now suddenly been replaced with Halloween. Perhaps because there's a bigger sales potential for costumes and decoration than it is with our own tradition... Anyway, the first year that it was a thing here we actually had some kids at our doorbell and we were of course completely unprepared. As they wouldn't settle for cat food or a bread slice with jam, they left disappointed. Since, we always have stocked up candy and guess what: no one visited us since.... So if anyone wants a bit of Halloween candy, then come and get it... Report this Post to the Staff
