Your Walking Liberty half is a harshly cleaned (whizzed?) coin worth only melt value (6.50)

The Walking Liberty is at best AG-03, probably Fair due to the scratches. Not sure about being whizzed.

The 1956-D Washington I would put in the upper range of VF, maybe XF-40.

My opinions of grade are usually more harsh than others, so wait for more opinions as well.

both coins appears to be cleaned. the Half is harshly cleaned and only worth melt and I believe the quarter may also

Your Half Dollar looks like it was subjected to a grinding wheel or maybe just some coarse emery cloth .
The quarter might not be cleaned at all ,VF-30 .

Thank u. I bought a collection from a college kid for $40. I lost all my possessions about 4yrs ago which consisted of my coin collection. (V-nickels, Indian head pennies... Etc.) I could kick myself in the behind. anyways, thank you for all your help
