Hello all,

I'm new to this forum. I have collected coins here and there over the years and always wondered about this one. I got it from my grandmother's collection when she passed and am curious to know if it is an error or something else. I tried researching different errors but couldn't find any with the front and back strikes on one side. Any help is greatly appreciated. -Frank

It's a coin that squeezed against another coin in a vise.

Not a mint error.

You might be able to read the date (in reverse) of the other nickel. It looks like 1974 to me.

Three reasons:

Bust is incuse
Impression is reversed
Obverse is flattened

Just someone fooling around, sorry.

Obverse also looks pushed outwards. Probably the coin is bent as well. So I agree it is PSD. (Post-Strike-Damage)
