This half dollar 1964 silver coin seems to reflect a bit differently from my other silver half dollar. The others have some what a dull look to it. This one is more reflectiv. Got it from te bank and took it home, then noticed the difference. What do you think?

Good find from a bank! Could be polished or could just be au/bu.

Only 1965-1967 had SMS strikes. This one looks like general circulation damage, but still looks pretty good.

Actually, there were 1964 SMS coins:

I don't think this is one, though.

darn it, I hate when I'm wrong. At least the extremely low population explains why I'd never heard of these before.

That's why we're all here: to share knowledge. I started a Jefferson nickel album at the beginning of the year and only learned of the '94 and '97 SMS strikes a couple weeks ago!

That's why this is a great place!

Here are better photos. In the detail descriptions they mentioned of polish lines all over obverse and reverse. Also the number 4 on the year has a tear drop or water drop at the crosslet of the number 4. Due to some kind of defect. You can see it in the photos.

I don't know if this proves anything or not but, I created a comparison of your coin's 4 (right) and one from a PCGS certified SMS coin (left):

For me, the first pic posted of the edge led me to think that this is not an SMS coin.

It looks like a normal business strike to me, but still a nice find.
