Here is a Mexico 50 centavos. I am very fond of the Mexican designs, in particular the silver.

Travelling for the holidays, so I'm on the bench for the next couple rounds. Lovely coins though! FWIW, I do have a high AU Canadian V-nickel

From 1944, I have this 10 cent piece from the Netherlands: Why is it special? Um... it is my only coin from 1944 that I have a picture of.

When I saw the third picture, I thought a "Back to the Future" reference might be coming. Cool die crack for sure!

Well, now that jbuck has weighed in with a fine entry, it's time for a tally and reckoning. If you have been holding back, this is your last call. Here are the stats, in order of posting: 1)- MontCollector showing a lovely 'unc' 1944-S Lincoln Cent, better than the one in my Dansco. 2)- casualcoincollector with a slabbed Chinese fiber coin purportedly from 1944. 3)- oriole showing an oh-so-pretty 1944 50 centavo Mexican silver coin that I would call 'unc'. 4)- Dorado with a bright 1944 copper 20 centavos from Chile that greatly outshines the well circulated 1944 Canada 'V' nickel he also posted. 5)- Joseph7420 with a heavily toned 1944 10 cents from the Netherlands that he neglected to mention was minted in Philadelphia, which makes it sort of special. 6)- spruett001 shows a high grade slabbed 1944-S Jefferson nickel with a 'striking' die crack. 7)- Coopertron5000 gives us one from the birds-on-coins theme with a 1944 British farthing. 8)- bd251 out-shines my original posting with an even better 1944 Canadian 'V' nickel- ! 9)- jbuck, last but not least, weighs in with another Canadian entry, a very respectable Newfoundland 1944 silver 10 cents. Nine entries total; that's a very good effort, folks. Now for the hard part: pick your favorite! Those who posted an entry are eligible to vote. PM me with your choice, as, "number one" or "number nine" or whichever you feel deserves to be the candle on the birthday cake. YES, you CAN vote for your own coin but my vote will be the tie breaker so choose wisely! And thanks for participating.
