I found a pound coin 2013 which is different in colour to any other pound coin iv seen, any ideas?

It might be plated.

I don't like the edge on the upper right of the queen side, is mushy but need better pics to really take a good look. There are fake pound coins out there.

When I was in Scotland last April I picked up some of the new pound coins. The guy at the Bank told me they changed them because as much as 25% of the old pound coins are fakes...

It looks fake. There are alot out there, I've had some truly dreadful fakes in change. The worst I have is made out of some sort of white metal and brass plated/washed, as it's circulated the brass wash has come off exposing the white metal underneath. I held onto that one.

Then I think it is a correct move that the UK Government issue new £1 coins.

I had seen a new £1 coin myself and I think it is more secure. But, it is not a beautiful coin, methinks.

Time will tell if the Government succeeds in combating counterfeit £1 coins this time round.

I think you can check The Royal Mint's website as they do have a video on how to distinguish a real £1 coin from a fake one.
