1935 Wheat Cent Weighing 3.29.. Why Would This Be? Any Thoughts ?

spru Bedrock of the Community United States 12477 Posts	Posted 09/10/2017 01:10 am 3.29g is just a little above Mint tolerance. It looks like a "woody" so maybe that has something to do with it. I'm assuming you've compared it by weighing other copper cents on your scale to make sure it's calibrated correctly. Cause is most likely due to the brass(yellow) added that didn't fully mix in. 3.11gr is average, tolerances are +/-.13gr, so not that much higher. to the funny farm!
