I finally got around to opening the roll of San Francisco business strike quarters. I have searched through hundreds of these quarters over the last few years, (40 at a time!) and have been VERY disappointed with the quality. This roll was by far the best yet, and this was the best of the roll. Most are weakly struck, with the obverse taking the worst of it, and I believe that allows planchet flaws to remain on the surface of the coin. (just a theory) I think that about half of this roll showed weakness on Washington's cheek, and those that didn't had much less "noise" on the surface.
Anyway, finding an MS65 or better in this series has got to be tough.
What are your thoughts on this one?
