still lookin Pillar of the Community 967 Posts	Posted 03/07/2018 9:15 pm I kept it. I have found several nice coins over the years. I usually only sell if I find a duplicate. Those type of errors there are no duplicates. I did sell a 2013 cent rotated 180 degrees once and wish I had kept it. Chances are you will not find another. I have gone through millions of cents the ten years and that is the only example of double struck in collar that I have found. Report this Post to the Staff

You really don't want to use the 1999-D cent for comparison purposes because that is a much rarer form of in-collar double strike. The 1997-D cent is a conventional double strike in which the first-strike elements were flattened and largely effaced by the second strike. The 1999-D cent features an extremely weak second strike which left the first-strike elements largely undisturbed. Error coin writer and researcher. Report this Post to the Staff
