Based on your photos, I would say the 1920 s is worth more because it is older.

I like the toning on the reverse of the quarter.

Neither is worth grading. The Mercury dime looks like the date was damaged? A closer view could confirm it.

We need pics of the 1920-S Merc's Reverse and the Washington quarter's Obverse to help. As for llewellin's post if the Washington is a low mint date it's condition + tone would qualify it.

I never noticed the slight damage, until it was pointed out by coop.
Now, it think that the date area of the Mercury has sustained a hit by a tiny bar like object, from the bottom of the "1" to the top of the "0".

The "W" in 'WE' is also a bit weak, but that may be the result of a Grease Filled Die.

It is still a very nice 1920 Mercury.

Is the Mercury a Fully Split Bands?
Obverse strike quality (other than the "W"), is reasonably good.
Rest in Peace

The 1920-S Dime is in real nice condition with FSB .
The quarter is nice but some scratches on right obverse field . I would only send in the Dime , looks MS-65 or better even with the hit on the 1 in date .

I personally find the Quarter Very attractive, would I get it graded? Eh, maybe if I was doing the 10 coin special at ANACS, but not for you. The merc on the other hand if it got FSB would be like ~$1-2K so yeah if not, still like $500

coop: thanks for the illustration
The strong visual impact of the illustration will make us all learn a bit more securely.
