Looks more like a heated coin with a torch. The rims don't look reduced. The date looks larger like what you would see on a heated coin. Acid reduces a coin in weight. If this was weighed, it would be normal, not reduced in weight.

That looks pretty neat! I am going to have to do some sort of experiment with my kid! Maybe it will help get him more interested in science.
