Hi! I'm new here, but I found this coin in my basement. I've spent hours in the past two days looking for even a picture of what I have but I can't seem to find anything. It is a 1794 Liberty Flowing Hair Silver Dollar. I've weighed it and it ways 30 grams, I've tested on magnet it passed and I've tested it with ice it passed as well. So I know for a fact it is for sure real silver. But here's what's weird... It's double headed! Both sides of this coin have the flowing hair lady on it and I can't seem to find out why though I've been researching it for hours. Please help!
Agree with others, it's a modern fantasy piece, being a coin look-a-like that was made by a private entity.
The fact that it's NOT magnetic doesn't assure that it IS silver. A local jeweler or coin dealer may have one of the new "ray guns" that will quickly give a read-out on this piece's composition. I recently attended a coin show and saw one of these $17,000 guns in action .... amazing!
