Good luck Wolf as they(the old miners)always leave something behind, my mate has just sms'ed me he's over in the Western Australia gold fields fossicking with the bloke that found the five ounce nugget and I know there been there for only 2 weeks and they have already found five ounces of gold in small 1 to 5 gram bits, that's not bad for two weeks work. He did send some photo's but I can't seem to upload them to the computer,I'll let you know what the total haul is when there back home in Bendigo. always remember to swing low and slow regards Harry

The heat at Christmas should be between 40c to 50c+ during the day so the best time to fossick is before the sun rises till it gets to hot or evenings when it cools down, and yes your right as this is the best time of year (May to Oct) to fossick there but work commitments stop me from going otherwise I would have gone with my two mates,Wolf did you go back to that spot you were fossicking and how did you go.
