Hi,

I have a 1996P dime that looks to be an error coin. Could someone explain to me what type of error this could be..

Thanks in advance

It's just a parking lot coin. Not an error, just PSD.

Generally, error coins won't look mangled since the error is caused in the process of the creation of the coin, which usually gives it a new-coin look. Just a new coin with a mistake on it. Of course, an error coin can also be mangled like any other, but the mangling itself is not the error.

It's the error of someone who dropped it in a parking lot!

Very mangled up coin. All damage, PSD. Not an error coin.

Error is thinking it is a mint error.
