1955 S Wheat Penny Worth Grading? - Coin Community Forum

A super high grade coin would be worth having it graded: MS-68 Example: https://www.PCGS.com/cert/04039260 $10K But note how the values decrease as the grades get lower: MS-67 https://www.PCGS.com/cert/37140127 $375 MS-66 https://www.PCGS.com/cert/39715689 $22 MS-65: https://www.PCGS.com/cert/38786631 $12 MS-64: https://www.PCGS.com/cert/80501764 $8 So would it be worth $50 to have a coin graded that would not bring at least grading fees back? I wouldn't do it. Also a lot of mint rolls from San Francisco were saved that year. That was the year that mint closed. So they are common to find. Report this Post to the Staff

Your coin is nice but does not grade high enough. I see a mark on his cheek...a little rim nick at 3 on the obverse...and a spot on N in ONE. and that's just at a quick glance...the TPG will see everything. In addition to the observations above, I think I'm seeing a stain(?)/spot on the top of the right wheat stalk. Very 2x2 worthy, or filling a hole in a Dansco album. Not worth submitting for grading.
