To me, the inside of the B looks like the same striations seen elsewhere going the same direction, which happens to look like doubling. The E looks more like a die chip to me. The R could be metal moved by the deep gouge or another die chip. From just this image the coin looks pretty beat up and worn, which makes DDO judgement difficult. Report this Post to the Staff

Tanman2001 Pillar of the Community United States 4408 Posts	Posted 01/02/2021 3:34 pm I do not believe this to be a doubled die. To me, it looks like old damage that was worn down. You can see an old scratch that starts at the bottom right corner of the E and goes through the R to the rim. The perceived doubling of the E could be related to that scratch, or a similar but separate one. Report this Post to the Staff
