1991 D Lincoln Penny Strike Through Or Modified

Hi Guys,

I have this coin in examination and the reason why I bring this to question is to find more information....

Most likely it is a modified coin with some type of punching mechanism, because I couldn't find any errors as such.

The reverse looks like a "struck through" error coin. However, the indent seems pretty large, hard to capture on a camera, I took a side ways view to capture as much detail as I could.

It seems like its propagating about 1mm compared to other regular pennies.

What do you guys think ?

Damaged coin. Note the edge is dimpled. A sure sign it didn't happen at the mint:
