Lewy New Member United States 12 Posts	Posted 08/25/2021 6:51 pm I found another strange pattern on this 2003 P Alabama quarter. It looks like the braille got stamped on top of Helen Keller as well as above the name letters. Report this Post to the Staff

CoinHunter4 Pillar of the Community United States 1086 Posts	Posted 08/25/2021 6:59 pm I think the stuff on the letters is either minor die chips or damage. Edited by CoinHunter4 08/25/2021 7:00 pm Report this Post to the Staff
silviosi Pillar of the Community Canada 6244 Posts	Posted 08/25/2021 7:14 pm This it is the explanation: Quote: Previously, the Alabama commemorative quarter-dollar, one of the coins in the United States Mint's popular 50 State Quarters Program, used Braille in the image honoring Helen Keller. The 1995 and 1996 Paralympic Silver Dollars, minted to commemorate the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, also featured Braille. The Braille on those coins was too small to be read by the visually impaired. Hope help every one. How many was mint?!!? No idea. Report this Post to the Staff
Lewy New Member United States 12 Posts	Posted 08/25/2021 7:45 pm Those bumps that are on top of the letters Helen Keller (not above, but ON the letters) are not anywhere else on the coin that they are not supposed to be, and they look just like the braille bumps. I find out last month in Dallas, Texas when one of the meeting officer (very nice blonde hair lady) give me what I post. I never know about those US coins. Canadians do 'it some before. Like Coinsfrog say: most informative tread, I thing we must have more like this. Thanks also to Lewy to post and ask. Report this Post to the Staff
