Hi guys,

I have this 1941 Lincoln Wheat penny and noticed that there is a sizeable piece of metal on the Obverse near the bottom rim. Can someone explain what this is please?

It looks like a part of the rim got flipped up and over onto the field. maybe from a lamination error..
