1859 Large Cent - Need An Expert Opinion On Haxby P4 65A

I don't do Haxby searches, but that looks to me like a TP#1 that we put in the 65th Charlton on p 292. Does yours have a D/C from the tip of leaf 11 to the denticles? Yours has the smaller crack at leaf 13 lobe. I think that your coin is XF and we priced it at $1,000 Canadian. Please show leaf 11. Even if it isn't the same TP that we listed, it is still a valuable coin and quite rare.

With the coin in hand, is there a very small D/C at 11. Later on the crack at 11 became very large and was bigger than the one at 13. I think that your coin IS a TP#1. Trend started listing it about 4 years after we put out the Charlton variety section in 2011. It lists in Trends at $800 Cdn in XF, so you have a nice addition to your collection and there may be some interest on here to TRY to purchase it from you. Congrats ... how long have you had it?

Phil .... maybe you can update the D/C indication chart for the die states on the Haxby site that shows the D/C at 13 was before the big one that developed on 11. I've always used the D/C from the tip of 11 as a sure marker for the TP#1 and his doesn't have it .. only the one at 13.

Oh. Wow! I missed the very visible D/C at 11, because I miscounted the leaves. I was looking at leaf 9 that had no crack, not 13. Sorry! In the initial full-reverse photo, I didn't see anything at 11. The later one, taken at an angle, did, but I misread that the coin had been rotated and I took the one at 11 being the initial one I saw at 13.
