Why would a seller ship an item worth over $200, from Canada to the US, without tracking. Not a huge seller, but has spotless feedback. What am I missing?
Depends what they are charging for shipping. Canada to US is brutally expensive. Most sellers charge an extra $5 on every non-tracked shipment as "insurance" for when people claim no receipt of goods. It probably makes them more $ in the end than shipping everything tracked and relying on ebay to solve any disputes.
Agree with Wade tracking here is very expensive, I was going to do it once and they quoted me $70 and it was only the size of a small brown padded envelope.
To be fair, when you buy tracking, a very nice young Mountie named Mike rides along with your package from the Post Office until it's delivered. When it is delivered, he stops off for lunch with his mum and then heads back to the station. Sending Mike to the US is much more complicated and thus expensive.
