I found these 1938 a couple hours ago , but didn't find any matches on VarietyVista or CopperCoins , can it be a DDO ?

To me it seems that the bottom of the 8 is a bit smooshed, like it took a hit that moved most of it up, and left a small ridge looking a bit like doubling. liberty looks like circulation flattening and I can't see anything around the eye. I know others will be here to correct me if I am wrong.

I agree with you about that number 8, but am less sure on LIBERTY, especially with the arms of the letter Y being so different in appearance.

See if it matches any known '38 DDO's. It has some positive signs.

Spence , I just post the LIBERTY picture to show it ,I don't see any doubling in it but I do see it on the 8 only , it could be a good place gouge also ,

Cpfull , I agree with Liberty I just post the picture of it , on the eye what I see is south of the eye lid ( try zooming the picture where the arrows are )
