At last, everyone at work who wanted a Log Cabin Cent has at least one of them now, so I can now keep all the ones I find in circulation without being 'greedy'. 2. One of my co-workers found a 2009-D Cent laying on the pavement at a gas station (by the pump), so I finally know of a local 'ground find'! 3. I raised $103 for charity (at work) by raffling off a bank roll of 2009 Log Cabin Cents (103 $1 tickets). The interest level was high, because this was a roll of Philadelphia Cents (that I bought from coppernickeldaddy), which we all figure are not too likely to show up in a BU roll at face value in a Denver bank! I had previously opened another of the rolls that I got from him (and showed a couple of those coins to the ticket buyers), so I could vouch for there being 50 BU 2009 Cents in the roll. 4. A new record (so far): Three 2009-D Log Cabin Cents in my change today! Two BU, and another AU. Ah, what to do with the AU Cent? I put it in a 'Take A Penny, Leave A Penny' tray, obverse up! I wanted to give someone else a chance to find one, without chucking it on the ground.... I may be the first person on here to have 'let go' of one, ha ha ha! Report this Post to the Staff

DNA Pillar of the Community United States 2734 Posts	Posted 05/15/2009 12:18 am The Denver mintage of 2009 Log Cabin Cents is higher than for Philadelphia, but I do find it odd that you would be finding "D" Cents in circulation in South Carolina, but not Philly's A couple of weeks ago, I was excited to find a BU 2008 Philly Cent in my change, a rare find in the Denver area! DNA Pillar of the Community United States 2734 Posts	Posted 05/15/2009 10:48 am To increase my possibility of getting Log Cabin Cents in my change, I stopped rounding up the one-Cent amounts when paying for anything. Normally, if the total of the purchase ended in '1' or '6' and I had a Cent in my pocket, I would spend the Cent to even out the change I get back: ie: For a total of $13.76, I'd hand $15.01 to get $1.25 back. (or: pay $14.01 and get 25¢ back, $20.01 and get $6.25 back, etc.) Now I want every Cent I can get back! Report this Post to the Staff
TonysPics Valued Member United States 178 Posts	Posted 05/16/2009 6:26 pm When I had my Lincoln Cent Collection as a kid in the 1960s, I used to go to the bank and exchange penny rolls and go thru them. Never did find that 1909 S, but I did fill it up pretty much going back to the 1930s. Report this Post to the Staff

Gary Burke Rest in Peace United States 3730 Posts	Posted 05/23/2009 3:47 pm If I found any circulating in western Colorado, I would gladly give them away, or spend them. However, there just aren't any. I volunteer at the local hospital gift shop, and went through about 500 pennies (Cents) recently and didn't find a single 2009. Report this Post to the Staff
