Not many 1793 Chain Cents within my budget so I bought this 1855 Large Cent at The EAC auction. My 11 year old grand daughter is the only one in my family interested in coin collecting so I'll give it to her.

Grade and other comments are welcome.

need a better shot of the obv similar to the reverse as I cant see the surfaces properly. nice upright 5's example.

without a better photo i'll go with AU55+

I'll refrain from the guess as I was the underbider, but this coin has a heck of a provenance.

i wish we had a better obv shot. I keep coming back to this one and would like to see what the obv left field looks like around K8-9 as well as the right field in back of the neck

I'm going to change my assessment of AU55+ as I'm not seeing any signs of wear so I'm going with MS62BN
