The Sixth and Seventh Editions have been retroactively ended in failure.

We are now ready for a new edition for newer members to join in on the easy early years.

We will start this with any coin from 2026. To allow this topic to get noticed before it picks up too much steam, I ask that we do not post anything from 2025 until after midnight (forum time) going into Monday, 13 July 2026. That gives us plenty of time to enjoy 2026.

Keep in mind that we can continue to post 2026 coins on that Monday until someone posts a 2025. Once the first 2025 coin is posted then no more 2026 coins will be allowed.*

Since the Eighth Edition started in 2024, I want to give the 2025 coins some love, too! So only 2025 coins can be posted until midnight (forum time) going into Monday, 20 July 2026!

Starting Monday, 20 July 2026 we will resume the one year per day rule with 2024.

This rule will be in effect for every year: post the current year until at least midnight. This will allow multiple people to post their coins from each year.

Once we move to the next year, there is no going back, no catching up like is allowed in other themed threads.*

Got it?

A summary of the rules (with the new/updated ones highlighted)
1. You must own the coin.
2. You must post a photo (or photos if each side is separate) of the actual coin you own. We do not care who took the photo. No stock photos allowed.
3. The coin can be from any country
4. The date needs to be validated as described below:
Common era dating is preferred, but it is acceptable if the date can be converted from another calendar, the most common being the Hijri era (denoted AH or H).
It is also acceptable if the date can be determined to the exact year from other criteria, like design elements, depicted ruler, etc. If it is not obvious, please inform how the date is determined (links are okay).

5. New rule: Whenever we have a run of AH dated coins being posted without CE coins, we will need all AH years to regress.
For example, 2014 CE and 2013 CE are covered by AH 1436, AH 1435, and AH 1434. If for some reason no 2014 CE and 2013 CE coins are posted, but an AH 1436 is, we would need AH 1435 and AH 1434 to regress to 2012 CE / AH 1433

This purpose of this rule is not to rectify date conversion issues and overlaps, but to make the journey more complete whenever the AH coins have an exclusive run.

6. One Year Per Day! This allows for more participation. The change to the next year will occur at Midnight Forum Time (US Eastern Time)
7. We must go in order! No going back to previous years,* no jumping ahead to later years.
8. Updated Rule: During each year, you must wait at least 30 minutes before posting another coin, even if other coins have been posted! This should allow for more diverse participation and moderate the pace, especially during the first two centuries. Year sets posted as one or two images in a single reply are okay.

As per usual, we can handle controversies and questions as they occur. I will be counting on the veterans to help enforce rules and maintain flow.

Let the fun begin!

* Okay, sometimes people are busy and miss out posting something they have waited to share. Feel free to sneak them in late and please indicate you are doing it so we do not mislead others about the current year. In these cases I will look the other way, especially when I am doing it.
