I'm pretty sure it won't' be at anyone's home. Most likely coin to be lost in a boating accident I have seen in a while.

Quote: How does one properly secure and store a $48,742 [at 2h53m left] coin at home, heh. Still at that bid. Will probably stay up to see what it goes for. No idea what it takes to have pockets that deep.

Up another $1000, just under an hour left. Betting it goes over $50k

$82,500 hammer price, $92,812.50 total to include buyer's premium. As we saw with the Omega Cents, there's a premium attached to the first example. . .There are 399 coins that could hit the auction blocks in the years to come. . .none will command that high a price however; I believe they will eclipse the 1995 W as the most expensive American Silver Eagles ever and become the Holy Grail for ASE completists. . .

Thanks, I was hoping someone saw it. I kept refreshing, then it was ended with no price showing. The highest I saw was $77,500 at about 30 seconds left. Unreal. Highest price for an individual ASE I bet.

Absolute insanity, though probably a drop in the bucket for certain collectors.

Nah I don't consider this coin to be a part of the series. It wasn't even offered to the public and it's just a variety with a slightly different privy mark, not even a scarce date.

@TheInfinityPoint: I agree. No sane collector would consider it part of the ASE series. . .

Normally only available in the Congrats set. In that form, they only made 60k I believe, so we can assume these were minted "in addition" to the Congrats set, although with the Team USA privy. I'd want one in the worst way, but no way in heck I'd pay even 1/10th of what this first one went for. I'd pay maybe what my entire 10th Anniversary set cost, which is a lot. But 5 figures? Nooooo. I'll just have to accept it, like many of us.

It may something achievable with patience and persistence. Quote: Nooooo. I'll just have to accept it, like many of us. I told you that you were not not sane.
