Actually there were no dimes minted in San Francisco in 1974. The last were minted in 1955 and not minted again until the proofs started in 1968.
Awesome job on finding those silver dimes!

First, I've never found a silver dime both in my change and rolls. Second, I do think that this forum should become sticky, or maybe moved to a new forum named roll hunting forum, if there will be one.

Regarding the previous poster who found the 1968 canadian dime, some are 50% silver, some are not. If it sticks to a magnet, throw it back.

Just found this one tonight in an otherwise unremarkable box of dimes: https://goccf.com/t/107933I call it the "Repaired Torch." :-)

Went through a box of NF String dimes yesterday and got skunked. Not even any modern Canadians.

Hi guys, I recently became interested in collecting coins, mostly silver and/or old coins. So then I found out about coin roll searching for free old silver coins, and was instantly hooked. I was googling around and found this thread, and I've been reading through it for a couple hours. I feel like I know most of the basics now, and I decided to join the forums. So I went to the bank and got $40.00 (I can't get many rolls at a time, I've been a little low on cash lately) in dime rolls. I got a nice 1962-P, which I think is pretty awesome at 1 dime per $40. Well I'm going to try to dime roll search often, I'll tell everyone if I find anything.
