I searched 1 box and didn't find 1 silver. I know thats common but I think it ruined me on dimes.

searched quite a few customer rolls and plastic rolls. here are the finds: 1964-D 1964-d 1964-d 1953-s 1951-s foreign: 1999 - british 5 pence 1988 Canadian 2001 -5 austrailian 2006 -5 austrailian 1977 -10 centisimos venezuala(bolivar) 1900 - hong kong. "queen victoria! very exciting find. anyone know more about it? its worth? history? silver content? there is also a small mint mark? below the bust line. cant make it out    Edited by SDcoinguy

Nice finds SD especially that old Hong Kong! I found a 1900 Canadian Vicky in a roll last year. You should be able to Google the value on that one.

I had to turn down overtime at work today 'cause I had to pick up my daughter at school, take her to the dentist. Between the lost wages and dental bill I'm down $500 today. But, I was able to pick up 230 customer rolls at 3 diff banks, scored 2 silver rosies, WOOHOO!

I recall seeing people trying to get the silver roosie set from circulation
I have been doing the same for a little over a year
I am at 30/48
a lot of people at the coin shows said it would be impossible but maybe because they wanted me to buy up their silver lol, my coins are of course circulated, but finding them is where the fun is (I do have a 1962 proof tho)

Went through 500$ today in dimes. I came across a 1954D, 1963, 1984S, & 1973 Panama coin. The weird thing is though the 1963 dime looks VERY SHINY and more silvery.. it also looks like someone tried to burn 2 of the edges. It's so weird.. I wonder if it was plated or cleaned hum.

at the place I used to work my friend found a 1962 D and gave it to me while I was visiting him
last week he gave me a 1943 steel cent too
good to have people looking for you

I don't search dimes at all (I do strictly cents, halves, and large $1) but I saw two odd-looking dimes in a teller's tray two days ago. Turned out they were both silver, and neither were Roosevelts! (1917-S Mercury and a '62 or '63 Canadian dime.) They couldn't give it to me that day and told me to come back tomorrow. And lo and behold, they actually still had them! They were only too happy to hand over the Mercury dime, but claimed they couldn't give me 'foreign money'... at least I went 1 for 2! Maybe this is a sign I should branch off into dimes! As a side note, I happened to have a Red Book and two 19th century culls (a '64 2c and a '67 3c nickel) and showed them to the manager. I showed him the Red Book's Mercury entry to prove that it was in fact, a US coin, and that he could give it to me (he didn't pay any attention to the value.) He asked what in his position at the bank he should search for.. I told him wheaties :-) Silver, what's that? haha I walked out of there with my oldest-ever circulation dime... and a new account (groan)... but at least they have no minimum for the 1st year, and free coin counting, which will save me a TON of time on rewrapping halves! |

Just finished my first box of dimes. I actually got 6 roosie's out of that box.

I was shocked that half were D mint mark, I usually do not see many D coins at all being I am less than two hours from Philly.

Opened a couple of rolls before going to work, got a lot of 2009's and 2010's, but other than that nothing. I don't even know what to do with the 2010's and 2009's  |

the 2010's aren't rare but the 09's are pretty tricky to find
