Thanks for replying all M, R, Big E, your'e a riot. I went out with 3 grand to spend, I scored close to $1,500 in hand rolled dimes from 3 banks that all know me. I could have bought twice that amount, I just got tired of buying coin. Now I have to dump it. I love finding those silver canadians, hard to get. I usually find about 50 canadians per $1000 searched dimes. The $900 in quarters gave up about a half-dozen canadians including a worthless 1968.

$240 in CWR, $10 short of a whole box no silver - oh well, I'll try again later other interesting stuff... 1993-S proof (clad) 2005-P tiny Cud at neck nice 1965 a ton of 2009P 4 canadians the last roll was unfair, since I forgot I had it and was hoping I might be saved from a skunk. But instead it was jam-packed with 1965-1969 all worn and looking like silver. Strange, I think. |

Surprisingly common. People heard that coins (halves) before 1970 are silver. |

ooops, had one to many before commenting on your find FFD. Rachums I believe I know what you are talking about on the 2005 with the small cub by the neck. I find these in many years, I have over a dozen of them so they don't seem too rare. Mine are like a tiny half circle coming off the bottom of roosevelts neck. Is that what you found? If so anyone know what kind of a value these Cuds have |

That's an internal die break, and I have one or two on the neck like that. A Cud is when part of the edge of the die chips away, so the break is touching the rim of the coin. |

On the way to the bank to pick up a box of dimes, I came across a garage sale about a block from the bank. I thought I'd stop and see what they had. He had an uncirculated 57 d dime in cellaphane from a coin co. from Littleton N.H. Never opened. Sticker said $1.00. So of course I jumped on that. He also had a little bag of coins he threw together ( about 10 or 12 ) marked $5.00. So looking through the bag I saw 2 silver quarters a 42 and 52. It must have been my lucky day.. I got skunked on the box of dimes though.

Lol sorry murr the canadian is 69 and not 68 , my bad !

I just tossed a '68 canadian quarter, non-silver.

Thanks for the info capn wiffo, I have three IDBs (internal die breaks) and a Cud I found on a quarter. On the quarter the Cud is touching the rim so that makes it a Cud, right? |

As I was getting some water from my refrigerator, I took a look at my dad's loose change on the table. I noticed one of the dimes was a 1963 Roosevelt. I replaced the silver dime with a clad one. It seems every once in a while, something neat makes its way into that pile (Previous finds include a 1958-D Roosevelt and a 1942-P War Nickel). |
