Congrats and it sure looks like you found a few rather unusually nice ones. Some of those are pretty hard to find like those you have. Nice job! A very respectable set!  sweet 39 40S 41 43P 43S 47D all the 49's and a nice 50D & 53S wow! |

NickelGuy, I've been suprised at the number of uncirculated early Jeffersons that seem to pop up for me. That 1938 is absolutely insane in hand. I've wondered a couple of times if I ran across someones collection pieces that got rolled up and turned into the bank.
I always ask for customer wrapped rolls and have had by far the best luck with them.

This gives me hope that I'll find my 50-D one day, as well as the 39D and 43D I need as well. The set also looks great by the way. I could tell you were switching out coins for better ones as you went along. Quote:

Congradulations. However, a few suggestions. It appears those are Folders you have them in. I strongly suggest you acquire an Album and move them to the Album. Folders are OK for short term collections but eventually the glues they are made with will do some darkening of the reverses. Also, wiatout a protection for the obverse, even you will sometimes touch them. That is really impressive for all circulation type acquisitions. Many people don't think it's possible to do that but you proved it can be done.

I have the 1950D in BU and I am missing the 38 and 39 issues, so only 4 dates to complete the set .... I think you were lucky to have all these in one box so yes I am jealous  Just kidding ...Congratulations it is sure a very nice feeling to complete a set ..... enjoy it  |

Carl I've got my BU set in an album. As to these, Harris (Whitman) has made a big deal out of these folders being glue free / coin safe... I'm willing to give this set a shot. If they end up looking like dog doo, that's ok. They were pulled from circulation... HOWEVER, this also gives them a shot at receiving toning.

I did the same thing....my Jefferson "circulation" Set is in a folder too. And mine was completed from circulation too, except for, I think 4 coins, which I got from CCF members here...I wasn't patient enough to wait to find them all ! ....  But my Dansco with Proofs Jefferson album contains only high grade shining examples in it..... THAT one is my baby ! I'm not so worried about protecting my "circulated" Jeffersons, and I'd hate to spend more on the album, than all of the coins are worth contained in it. |

Congrats! Welcome to the club. I have completed two sets from circulation. My first set took less than 50 boxes.

Congrats! I'm still stuck with 4 holes left, but I took the second half of the year off to search halves. Still got 2 holes there too. Grr!
