Quote: WOW... Great looking registry set, SPP Well, you can't see anything yet. I had a friend come and photograph the coins in a professional fashion, so I will post the coin images up on the registry set sometime later next month. Photographing coins through plastic windows is not an easy task. I also have about 8 upgrades for that set, as I continuously scour for the perfect business strike. I prefer to find them raw, rather than pay the outrageous fees that two ebay sellers try to charge. The handful of coins graded MS-67 to MS-69 in the other sets are errors, PCGS wrongly attributed PL (Numismatic BU) as MS... I have been advising the Canadian PCGS representative on that series, and should be fixed shortly...

Wish I had a high 9 that high. Only feeling you out on this nice error you have. I got packages today from ICCS and CCCS. We were right, I now have half of the 1883H obverse 4 five cent coins.Obv1 1884 is EF45. Brian grades my coins very tough.

Yeah, that is a tragedy Randy, an EF-45 1884 Obverse 1, you better unload that poor condition coin to me!

Nice find, I've looked through hundred of buckets of coins with one of these in mind, I'm super jealous and very happy for you. Congratulations.

Anyone read the latest Canadian Coin News Trends commentary? Once again, they get it wrong... according to the Trends editor (or committee) the coin you see in this thread does not exist, because it is medal and not coinage axis...

I'm sorry, that figment of your imagination must weigh you down heavily. If you wish to rid yourself of the burden, I'll send you an express post envelope to dump it in and the matter will be over.

My coin was not an existing one that was known, it is a new find (and actually, 5 now are known in medal axis). Just because you see it in a book, or read it online, does not mean it is correct...

I recently showed this coin to Sean Isaacs (Alliance Coins), who is also the current contributer to Canadian Coin News Trends. It certainly raised his eyebrows, I expect a follow-up in the next Trends commentary...

FYI - the aforementioned registry set now has photos. Yet, PCGS has crossed their wires and have called the denominations all as silver dollars (S$1)....
