With those 1972 Double Dies remember there are numerous varieties. Many of those are really of little to hardly any value. Many are actually only mcahine doubling. Many are just well worn dies. The only one of any real value is the one that is really doubled. For the real one check out http://www.coppercoins.com

I've gone through about 450 rolls of Lincoln's, and I have yet to find any.

I look at every Lincoln I get, and so far no luck.

On my very first shot of roll searching I came across a 2000 WAM, an interesting cracked die, and two 1982 zinc small dates. It's all "luck of the draw," as it were. :-)

Roughly $800 in cents. 4 1998 WAMs, a Canadian clipped cent and a partially plated zinc in MS.

I do not feel so negative about me not finding any Wide AMs, Closed AMs, or DDs so far.
I have been lucky enough to be at local branches of my Credit Union when people have cashed in a lot of rolled pennies though. I have found a dime a time or two mistaken for a penny.
Anyway, I will just keep on looking until I actually find something. I hear the 2000 WAMs are probably the best overall shot for more recent currency.

I would say I have been through between $100-$150 in rolled pennies this year (Its a guess cause I don't keep track). I have found 1 2000 WAM, 1 2011-1DO-006, 1983-1DO-001, 1 1998-1DR-001, 1 Counter Stamp, 0 Cuds, (I have found a roll of very minor DDR's from the 1990's where most years have small doubling of the 6th and 7th pillar on the reverse) To help not get frustrated by the lack of finds I have 2 albums I am working on one is 1941-74 and one is a 75-present. I am one 2009P LP4 away from filling it with all MS coins. The other album is gonna take awhile... I still probably need around 20 coins.

I've searched 7 boxes since I started and only 1 1964 DDR, nothing else. I found my first WAM, 2000, this week in pocket change from a gas station.

Quote: The only problem I have been running into lately is that all the banks I search now only have brand new rolls.yuengling101 If they are 2011 P you might want to go ahead and get some then check out coppercoins.com http://www.coppercoins.com/advsearch.php then type in 2011 and hit enter.

That's true...the term is 'doubled die' - not 'double die'. I have looked through close to $20,000 in Lincoln cents since I started back in 1980. I have found thousands of die varieties in my years, but have found only three 1998 Wide AM cents, and found a couple of rolls of 2000 wide AMs. Problem is, I lived in the Denver mint district where no-mintmark Lincoln cents come only one or two to a roll. That was nice back in the day that RPMs were more plentiful, but since 1989 is the last date for RPMs, those have basically dried up as well. Over the past ten years or so, the most common 'finds' in my searches have been the column doubled die reverse cents - collectible - nice - examples have been one or two per $5 searched in pocket change. I have been far more into searching through "unsearched" wheat cents over the past ten years. I have been through ten times the number of wheat cents as memorial cents, and have a nice pile to show for it. Doubled dies, repunched mintmarks, the like. Usually two or three per roll, and I have found a number of quite decent doubled dies AND repunched mintmarks in supposedly unsearched (yet we know they were searched) bags and rolls. Thing is, most people who search them are only looking for key date and higher grade coins - they very often don't have a clue how to find what I search for...so every bag is unsearched to me. I could bore you to tears with a list of my most recent finds, but that would be pointless. Suffice to say that they are still out there in great numbers, and are ripe for the searching by anyone who has some patience and is willing to search everything to find anything. Don't be tied down by lists of "dates to look for" and by books like the CherryPickers' Guide. That's a great book to identify what you HAVE found...not to limit yourself to what you COULD find.
