Yes - please keep us posted. I'd suggest asking the seller about this see if you are getting the coin in the pic.

I caught one of these a few weeks back. I emailed the seller and he thanked me and said he accidentally used the wrong pic. on the second coin. Not sure if it was true but he pulled the second listing. I would definitely email and tell him you expect the coin in the pic.

I decided to have some fun. I sent the seller of both of these auctions the following note: Quote: Hi, I noticed coin in this auction was already sold by you in one of your completed/won auctions. So if I win THIS auction - what coin would I be sent? I will post his reply.

The reply: Quote: You are correct. This item did already sell. I am not sure how it got double listed. Thank you for pointing this out to me.
- debockestate And the newer auction has been pulled.

Quote: had to take a chance the coin is booking for 70 in pcgs price guide Not the most accurate price guide to go by when buying a coin, as was stated above a common date Morgan in PCGS MS-63 condition usually sells for around 50 bucks so you did get the coin cheaper than they usually sell for but you definitely didn't get a steal like you would have if the PCGS price guide was accurate. There are allot of people that do not like these small clacker PCGS holders (myself included) because they do not fit in the PCGS/NGC boxes and they do not stack with the newer slabs either. There used to be an impression that if it was in an old clacker holder it would upgrade but that's not the case anymore, usually if it was a lock upgrade they aren't in the old holders anymore. But I think the old holder and the listing error you found saved you about 8 bucks on the coin which is still a pretty good deal

Better pics! He was the one who said they were bad pics! Also it will be good to know he actually got the coin in the pics as the seller says.

I got the coin today ! It is awesome. Turns out it is in a pcgs 2.1 rattler holder from the 80`s these are desirable as they often upgrade. the coin is a solid 63 maybe a 64 I will try and post pics. I think I got a deal. there is a small crack in the case but only on one half the slab and you cant feel it or get any movement in the slab so I think it is o.k.

Quote: Turns out it is in a pcgs 2.1 rattler holder from the 80`s these are desirable as they often upgrade. That is so not true anymore, if you look at my other post most of the coins that would upgrade are already out of these small holders and it being in one is probably why you got such a good price on it, most people (myself included) do not like those slabs because they do not fit in anything the other slabs fit in nor will they stack with the newer slabs. I have sold off every small holder I have ever owned and have owned quite a few of them

i buy the coin not the holder i saw an ms 63 for 38 bucks I jumped and I think got a good deal. I like the holder it is smaller and boxes of 20 would not be so bulky cant get very many ngc or pcgs boxes in my safes but hey glad you put yours back on the market. its all good

I am just saying that just because its in a clacker holder doesn't mean its going to upgrade and actually there is a 99% chance it will not. I also stated most people do not like the small holders because they do not stack, so putting them in a safe when they do not stack on top of the other slabs means they will take more room as they slide everywhere. I never said you got ripped off or anything so not sure why it sounds like you took offense to my statement but I also do not think you "scored" by saving 8 bucks after shipping was included either. I was just stating if you like the small holders, you can find them for around the same price in the same grade you did here because allot of collectors do not like them. The perception 10 years ago where they would be upgrade potential and the prices were usually higher because of this for the clacker holders but now this perception has changed. So as I pointed out above the statement you made about the upgrade potential is not true and the prices have fallen to show the change. Most coins that would upgrade in clacker holders have already done so since the collector/dealer received a higher grade and a capsule that stacks with their other slabs they sent in last week. Buying the coin and not the holder is a good concept but I do not think that applies to this situation you presented us with in this case, you definitely bought the holder in this case as you yourself made perfectly clear in your posts

o.k. got ya, You basically are saying all the old holders have been picked through and no upgrades are left. I do not agree. The search is what its all about. For me it is a coin by coin approach . If you look at the add in my original post you will see the seller did not list it correctly and after writing him I knew he did not know what he had. So I got a good deal and am very happy with the coin. Whether it upgrades or not was not what I was after it is what I read , and I do know for a fact grading was stricter then.
I think you are the one with the strong opinion on this so now we know how you feel but thats not how I feel about the old holders at all.
take it light
