Nancy, You have to stop posting all these error details. I spend more and more time noodling now because there are so many things to look for. Whatever did happen to the idea of a hi-tech coin scanner/grader? My brain just manages to almost remember last lot and then there's more. Maybe I need a memory upgrade (and the eyes too wouldn't hurt). I tried plugging a memory stick in my ear but it didn't seem to do anything. Jeff PS. You will have mail in a few minutes

I also found none today. Other than being interesting do they actually have a value >50c?

Jeff, I think it was Dibby33 that was working on a noodling machine. I was considering trying too, but so far have only done a bit of reading.

I came across some more 2005 50c coins and now have some more piccies to show you. I've tried to keep part of another element in each image so you can judge where each Cud is located on each coin. Front of hair Cuds, first noticed this error on Tues night, and found it on 5 coins. Bottom of 'A' and 'U' of Aust visible in top right of image, Cud is towards the bottom left: Some more nose Cuds, 4 of these have 3 Cuds on each coin, Bridge of nose, halfway down nose and hanging under nose: the 5th has just 1 under the nose, I only have one of that type: 6 Lip Cuds, mostly bottom lip, just 1 on the top lip: 10 Hair Cuds, back of the head towards the neck. Bottom of A in Elizabeth visible in each image, 2nd from the bottom right has 2 Cuds. Hair Cuds appear in 3 positions, Back of head, top rear of head, and front of the head. (Top rear of head images are yet to come). Still heaps of 50c error coins to do images of, but thankfully, not 2005 WWII ones.

These should be the last images for this post: 2 more views of the small Cud on S1's hand: 10 views of Top Back Hair Cud, under II of Eliz II: One that I think is either a Strike Through of foreign object or possibly a planchet flaw:

Well done Nancy ! With the standard of your photography, have you considered publishing a book on "Australian error coins"? I know I'd buy it! Thank you for your posts, I think they are outstanding.

Quote: have you considered publishing a book on "Australian error coins"? Haha! No, I haven't. But if you hang around this forum long enough, you'll probably get to see all the decimal errors in my possession, so there'd be no need for a book then. I wish I could get the lighting better so the colour in the pictures was more like the real colour of the coins, but if I wait till then, I'd most likely be too old and doddery. This old dog is not capable of learning too many new tricks.

Last night I inspected an interesting batch of 50 cent pieces. Sometimes it is like that. You open a few rolls, and out come a great variety. In my case, Centenary of Federation WA, VIC, QLD, Royal Visit etc. I also found a "record sized Cud" on the 2005 WWII piece. I have attached a picture. The die must have been in an advanced state of deterioration. Looks like the soldier is lobbing a cricket-ball Squire
