Anyone who ever helps me with anything deserves praise, and is a friend of mine. I gave a kidney to one of my friends, so I take my friendships seriously. I also reward great people whenever possible.

I like Asian culture. Nice and humble saying PO. I'll remember that one.

Junior e, I believe by the looks of what you acquired in the transaction. You did well. Congratulations.

Wow. I can see that you do. That was an amazing thing to do for a friend. A lot of people would like to think that they would do this but without walking in your shoes and actually doing it, we may never really know for sure. They say that The Lord loves a generous person and I believe that to be true. Awesome gift of life for sure!

Yes, I do as well. There is much wisdom in such a venerable culture. We would all be better people if we took the time to study Asian cultures more and learn all that we can from them.

I spent four months in South Korea back in the 80's, and it was an awakening experience. I wouldn't want to mess with those guys, but if they are your friend it's for real. Nice people and a great culture.

That sounds like quite an experience, Junior. Something like that can really open a person's eyes.

My son is a former US Marine. Yeah, I know, a Marine is ALWAYS a Marine, but this is just my way of saying that he isn't in the service these days. Anyway, he told me that some of his black Marine buddies were very eager to go to Somalia and talk to the Somali people. Once they got there, though, they discovered that they had FAR more in common with other Americans than they did with any of the Somalis. They just had a totally different mind-set, culture, ethics, and ways of looking at the world that were totally foreign to Americans. That counted for MUCH more than any similarity in something as trivial as skin color. Not saying that this was bad but it sure was different. It was quite an eye-opener.

Ed, my best friend is a retired leatherneck. He is one of the finest people that I've ever met.

Yeah, Africa is a lost continent at present time. When I went to Korea I was visiting my Brother, who was a Major in the United States Army at the time. I was given the red carpet treatment, something which I was not used to. I'm so glad that I did those things as a young man. Now that I'm old I only leave the farm to go to the Post Office or the pharmacy. My Dad taught me to go for it while you're young, so I moved all over the country for most of my twenties. If I hadn't done it then I would have many regrets now, and few memories.

It's cool, now everybody relax.
Offer him spot on each, they should all be close to weight and you might get some nice toners...

Good memories are the true wealth of our lives, Junior. I know this to be true because we really can take them with us when we leave here!

Glad to hear that you got some travel time in and that you have minimal regrets. That's really good... and one of the marks of a successful life. I agree with those who say that their regrets mostly concern the things that they did not do rather than the things that they did.

As hawk said try to take some junk ASE's to a pawn shop and see what they offer you.

Take a bag of Ikes to a pawn shop and see what they'll lend. You'll be lucky to get 80ยข per.

Why? When they lend money, they make profit on interest and storage. If you don't make a payment in 2-3 months, they can sell the item.

If they lend full face, the incentive to pay them is greatly reduced. Sure, they eventually get the coins, but meanwhile they had their money tied up at no return for 2-3 months, plus notification, paperwork, etc.

Offering spot for a beat up piece of 999 silver, from one collector/stacker/hoarder/investor to another, sounds fair.

Show me one refiner, anywhere, who will pay spot for 5000 oz of silver, much less a single beater oz. It's not unusual to get as low as 85% of spot, on quantities, and there may be refining, assay, and wire fees taken out of that.

Pay whatever you feel is fair, and like the hotel room people who generate so many complaints, if you want, go into competition.

I think that is a fantastic deal War-nickels (gotta be 1942-45 of .295 or 35% silver)
↑↑↑ where did that come from?

Anyone in business certainly can't pay spot. Heck I would not expect them to pay spot.

However getting spot price is not that hard to do. Everyone on this site would or should jump to buy silver at spot price. Most of these people have had to pay a premium over spot because they are buying from people in business that must make a profit to stay in business.

It is simple what would you want to pay on an ASE - spot price or spot plus $3. You know you would buy thet all day long unless you are in business where you can not pay spot price and make a profit. Thus for those looking to speculate your best buy may not be from dealers.

Selling is the same way.

With that said I can't always find enough silver at spot so I have to buy some at a premium, nothing wrong with that. It just takes longer to make a profit. For example if a dealer sells at a $3 Premium then buys at $3 under spot you need silver to go up just over $6 to make a profit.

Fredd, do you have kidney problem's?

If you hve a friend willing to donate, even if he isn't a match there are ways to make it happen through trading.

Your friend would donate to someone that he matches, and the other person's friend would be a match for you. It happens every day, and the waiting list for kidneys is about 50,000 kidneys long in the US.

They stopped working about six years ago. I saw one of those four-way swaps just a week or so ago, but, no, no volunteers here.
