Yes, I posted already. Grade N9. Not real. Struck copy. I am in the process of upgrading my computer and camera for better online photos. I hope to be posting more and sharing more of my collection.
I sort of burned out because of the negative posting and comments by biggfredd. He seems a little weird and creeps me out. I enjoyed everyone's remarks and learned a lot. Thanks for the encouragement.

Biggfredd is a good guy, I would take it all in good fun. Though I could see how he could creep out the new members who don't know of his shenanigans.

That's too bad it is a struck copy. Keep searching. There are plenty of variety and error coins out there to find.

Sorry man ! I was hoping your coin was legit but dont get sad just keep going as it was great adventure for all of us ; and besides of the experts who gave you their op on the coin I'm sure everybody else would take the same chances you did , they just wont addmit . With all respect to my fellow coin collectors and experts sometimes we just do what we have to do !

The op's photos screams of cast copy (looks like fine grain sandpaper) but hey, if it made him feel better by having it examined by three more opinions, that's his business, not ours ;)

I've been doing this for a living for 48 years. In that time I've seen lots of fakes, and hope I've learned a thing or two worth passing on. BTW, I'm not a little weird, I'm a big weird. One thing I've always been big on is trying to save people from fakes and scams. Got me thrown out of a coin club as a teen, and in the WSJ a few years back. You take the good with the bad. |

I went through it with one of my first posts; I felt like I was getting slammed for a dime I was trying to learn about. I learned that 99.9999% of the "harsh" comments are actually very realistic and not to take things personally. Yes, there is the .0001% but they usually do not last long here. I don't know biggfredd but I have looked forward to his comments when I see his replies. If you follow him, I think you will see what I mean. And if memory serves me correctly, don't you owe us another post of some of your father's other item?   |

Update!! I found another 1943 "copper" Penney in my Fathers collection! It has a very weak strike and clearly is a fake!! But, what's up! Makes me a little unsure of my other coins. :(
I am going to a show tomorrow and hoping to share the coins with other collectors. I will repost tomorrow after I get some comments.
