Five,
Ebays rule is seven days, but I was wondering what others thought was fair.I don't list a time that a buyer has to pay anymore.I use to but a lot of buyers were waiting the full time limit before paying. Now that I don't list a time frame, most buyers pay within 24-48 hours and many, right away.

I send a friendly personal reminder on the morning of the 10th day asking for a response within 2 days. If I don't hear from them after 2 days, I file the ebay report.

eBay's general rule is seven days with a limit of 45 days before time runs out to file a non-paying bidder complaint. There's exceptions for NARUs and a couple other things.

In all my auctions, I request a message from my buyers to respond or communicate within 24 hours so that I can know by what method they choose to pay and just to let me know that they are actually alive and receiving ebay's and my messages. Nothing frustrates me more than a non-communicating buyer. After 24 hours and I still haven't heard from a buyer, I start sending them polite messages asking if all is well at their end and if there's anything I can do at my end to help them. In all instances in recent years, they have eventually paid, but far too often, I have never received a message from them - it's as if they were afraid to send a simple courtesy email.

Only twice have I had a non-paying buyer and the first was maybe six years ago. Some kid who had already been NARU'd once. Back then, three negs and you were off ebay. He was NARU'd again. The second time was about the same time. I learned that the buyer had died, so not much I could do.

I just finished yesterday filing a NPB from the first auctions (ended on the 24th of Dec.) there is really no hurry unless you want to relist the Item right away .

I dont like doing things like that ,, I always feel bad,, but when left in a corner I do what I have to do .

And there are way more non communicating sellers than there are non communicating buyers !!

Just as a general question, how long do most of you wait before filing a non paying bidder complaint?

I state payment must be made within 10 days. After about 4 or 5 days I leave a reminder. After 10 days I leave another. Most of the time I will wait until about 14 days to file. That's because I accept Money orders too, and sometimes buyers don't mail until the 10th day. I really would rather complete the sale then run off and start filing and attracting neg comments. But I DO file if they don't respond.

Well, then don't email them anymore. Whether they intend to complete or ignore this transaction is moot now. They have your emails. File when you feel comfortable.

The buyers who don't communicate with me, generally have great feedback and mail a M.O. It's as if they're playing a little power game, and getting a good laugh over seeing a seller begging for money. I don't play.

I wait 10 days then send another invoice then wait a few more days then file or suffer the listing fee and relist. I just went through this issue and do not like it! I looked at the buyer's feedback and he had 4 more the same as mine so he is no longer a registered user. That is a hrd one to get out from under. And keep the original name. I had the same issue myself when I had a heart attack and went to the hopital for a few day's. Two of the three seller's were understanding but numismaticbureau hung me out to dry even after offering to pay the listing fee or go ahead and complete the transaction and then blocked me for future buying. But I have not heard to many good things about him from other's. I am not judging him just never got a chance to find out if he is a reputabvle dealer or not..

that sucks, I think you should consider whether you should sell your good to the bidder by checking on the bidder's username, it should show you the bidder's feed back
cheers,

I just went through one. Sent an invoice on 1/22 and 1/25. Sent a note on 1/26 and 1/28. Just got an e-mail about "out of town" and "been hectic," but he paid for five other things during that time.
I'll get my money, feedback, then block him.

To answer the question, 5-7 days.

I should have not given him a refund but. but I did sometime you have to bite your tongue and just do it!But I give them a reminder after the 48 hr I put on all my Auction & Buy Now, and will report it to ebay to get my fee refund in a heartbeat!!!!

I don't understand what you are saying. Is NGC no longer slabbing 20th Av sets as such?

Okay, I have a NPB that apparently has done this on three other recent items. But what now?

I sent three e-mails and invoices within 10 days. Then I filed an NPB a week ago.

DO I wait for ebay to contact me? Delete the dispute and add Neg Feedback (he has three already)? Can I leave the dispute up and still get my fees back? Or, how do I get my fees back so I can re-sell the thing?

Thanks,
Seth

Hi seth

it is up to you to close the dispute to be given credit for the fee's.. If you have not heard from the buyer for 7 days after filing the NPB then just close it get the fee's back and relist .

Well, I closed it and got my fees. I couldn't neg the slug since he is "no longer a registered user."
