There are conflicting reports on this coin wert. It was believed to be quite rare and may very well have taken a back seat to the 2006No Log0 No P Magnetics. The Market place seems to be flooded with the Nologo No P magnetic 2006's however there doesn't seem to be many of the 2007 non magnetics around.
Anyone with the pop reports can jump in anytime with data.
Rest in Peace

Silly question from a greenhorn--would anyone be interested in telling me where I would find a "P" on The "P" penny for 2006? Going crosseyed here and see no "P's".

Thank you if you reply.

The reason you dont see the P is simple! You do not have a 2006 penny with a P as they are difficult to find.
If there is a circle with a stamp in it under the queen then the penny is referred to as a 2006 Mint logo penny.
If there is no mint logo under the queen then you have a regular 2006 penny.Get a magnet and see if the no logo penny sticks to it and if it does then your penny is worth a premium!
If you find a 2006 P and it doesn't stick to the magnetic then you hit a home run.
I hope this helps you out.

Anyone can have a 2007 logo non-magnetic coin. Just pick up one of the 2007 NHL coin sets. Those are Winnipeg strikes in those sets, and the cents are non-magnetic. Most of the ICCS MS-66 & MS-67 coins you see, are likely from those sets.

SPP

While obviously ICCS is not always consistent on this stuff, shouldn't the coins from those sets be labeled "Numismatic BU"? Or are they business strikes?

I agree Smallcentguy!
Many have submitted the 2007 Non Magnetics and the majority come back graded NBU.
I can understand ICCS or CCCS making a error if the NBU was heavily circulated but how can they confuse a MS67 with a NBU MS67 ?
Are they not the so called experts?

Good question darryldarryl, but then what made them experts in the first place ? They opened up shop & became experts by doing so ? Maybe there is a special training course by more experts.

Smallcentguy, in theory, you are correct. But, the coins placed into those sets are Winnipeg business strikes, so once they are removed from the hockey sets, it is impossible to determine if they came from a roll, or a NHL coin set. The NBU coins are the mirror finish coins struck in Ottawa, right up until 2010.

Thanks for the clarification SPP.
What you say does make sense!
I am a little confused though as I was at a coin seminar in Toronto not so long ago and the well known teachers were telling everyone to be on the look out for the 2006P Non Magnetic,
2006 No Logo No P magnetics and the 2007 Non Magnetics as they are "scarce".
I can understand the first two by why the 07 Non Magnetic?

I guess if someone wanted to they could break open a 2006 NHL set and pass off the P penny as one from a roll!
