Siting here with 2 boxes of nickels and cents in front of me, but I find myself daydreaming about that bag. LOL!

SPP...If a person had lots of time to spare, how long would you say it would take to search the whole bag?

Very slowly, until the first exciting find-- then-- greased lightening!

I had three 1963 bags ($20). Each took me two days to go through, about 8 hours in total per bag.
I'd love to get a 1962 or a 1964 bag!
What surprised me was the number of coins with black fingerprints on them!

When the term 'bag marks' is mentioned this is how they are caused. The finished coins are just spat out of the coining presses at a great rate of knots, directly into a receivibg bag, such as this one.
Newly made coins that are collected and rolled sustain far less damage before they leave the mint.

Nope. The weather is too nice. I am spending the weekend outdoors...

SPP-Ottawa, I take it you don't hoard copper since you're taking the toned ones to the bank?

No, I don't bother hoarding copper. Frankly, it is not worth it for me. So, my bank returns will be some future coin roll hunters' find...

Any results as of yet or is the bag still sitting there waiting for you to send it to me to search through?

I only looked at about 100 coins, just to gauge what the dies were like. There are a LOT of really weak strikes, which is very cool. I am giving a talk on weak strikes at the Ottawa Coin Club next month, so I'll be able to hand out a MS-63 example to each member. Some folks still don't buy into weak strikes being mint-state coins, so coins right out of a mint bag helps!! Of the 100 coins, there was one MS-64. I probably won't tackle the rest of the bag until later this summer, maybe doing a handful or so at a time... I have tons of rolls, so this one is not a high priority.

Hey! If your taking the toned coins to the bank, could you possibly send me them in exchange for American 1964 pennies. They won't be ms, but they will be u.s! :D
