I sent a few messages to the seller informing they that it is a fake. He seemed reasonable in responding and wasn't rude like most would be. He seemed to not know it is a fake but did make a slip up saying when he purchased it he did so thinking it was genuine. This conflicts with the claim it is a deceased estate sale.

Looks like another fool that got stung and just wants to pass his misfortune onto some other poor bugger instead of just disposing of this junk  |

i also asked if it was real and worth the money
I'm not sure, please rely on your own judgement, one other person questioned it's authenticity, I was under the impression it is real but I couldn't say with absolute certainty

ebay is turning into a nightmare with these Chinese fakes,now I read where they are into stamps as well.There are a few of these Florins with the flat star around,a couple of the 1932 type were sold on ebay UK last year,bidding started around £50 & went North,may be genuine but not worth the risk.

maybe enough doubt has been created to keep them honest? though its sad to see someone get stuck with an expensive fake like that, not everyone can afford losses like that.

Talking about deceased estates,i purchased a "collection of unsorted old coins in old Tobacco tin found in shed" about a year or 2 ago,no one bid and I got it for $5 or so and one of the coins was a badly pitted 1919 double dot,also I got $10 for the tin so there are good buys out there amongst the normal con/deceitful lots. |

Yeah the G is so obvious now that it was pointed out.
It seems strange however that the original forger would choose to do 1932 florins in VF and maybe fetch $1,000, rather than something much more valuable for the effort. I guess something more valuable is under more careful scrutiny...

They're re-producing copies of all rare Coins from all countries and each year they are getting better.Its buyer beware in a big way on ebay,the combined knowledge on Forums like this are a big help to sort out the fakes. |

For the edification of those who wish to examine the picture:
The two faults I spotted:
1. The top arm of the star above the shield is too fat near it's tip, and
2. The rim denticles below the date are uneven.
I have not specialised in Australian pre decimals for over 30 years. Been there, done that.
