Thank you so much for the information and help, and that's so odd, wondering if there are other factors that come into play then. Or maybe it's just timing and the $109 sale was because there was a collector/buyer avidly looking for that specific coin at that time. Thanks again, much appreciated!

No - BIN means "buy it now". Somebody is trying to sell it at that price and there are no takers. The seller has priced it much higher than the average market will take and is likely just hoping for the one guy who just wants it at any price. The fact that an open auction start of $35 didn't rise any further is more indicative.

I think a fair price for this coin is about 10% over bullion value, so right now somewhere between $30 and $35.

Here's the NGC database entry for it. It isn't an official government-issued coin, so it's not listed in the mainstream coin catalogue. Instead, you'll find it in the companion guide "Unusual World Coins". According to that, the book value is $65.

Hello all,
I have a follow-on question for this old thread...
I found some interesting information regarding this particular coin and was wondering how to interpret the information? Please see link below. Also, this link seems to imply that this coin was produced/authorized for production by the Central Bank of Kuwait. What are your all's thoughts on that issue? Does anyone know current value of this coin and original production quantity? I will gladly buy a good book and do more homework on this issue if one can be suggested on this particular coin. Thank you in advance.

Three of these have sold on ebay recently, at prices of approximately $25, $30 and $45. So this gives the current market value. Edited by tdziemia

Depends on if you are buying or selling. Retail $65, wholesale around $25-30.
