Thanks artdio and rock daddy.
This was the first time for me sending coins in to be graded.
Very happy with the result and I got to meet Scott in person.

I have a 1882 gold coin as well. My first. I'm from Ontario and got interested in Newfoundland coins because I love coins and these ones are rare. It is in very good condition as far as I can tell. I would like to have it graded, but I'm not sure where to go for an accurate appraisal. I live in Hamilton. Are there any good appraisers here, or do I need to go to T.O.?

to ccf!
You can mail it to ICCS in Toronto, or cccs in Montreal.
You can drop it off in Toronto to ICCS. You should call them and have them mail you a submission form first.

Cccs will certify varieties.
ICCS is preferred by buyers. Supposedly.

Good to know. I will be going to T.O in the next few weeks. I might just drop it off. I'm a little leary about sending a valuable item over the mail:s I'm assuming I can find their address on here somewhere.
