sleaklight,,
Thats not 7.2 ounces of silver thats 72% silver per coin ,,each one of the cap and rays has .3856 ASW
per coin,, the Morelos peso's contain.0541 ASW per coin.
if your asking for recommendations about selling them, I agree with TwoKopeiki bulk lot.

Boy I love these coins. How lately hve you seen the Morelos pesos at 3/1.00. That's a good deal for the silver alone. The wear seems similar to the War Nickels to me in appearance. I have one that kind of appears like some sheen is flaking off. Has anyone else seen this. Was there a higher content silver plating over the .1 silver coin to make it have a silver sheen? I also agree about the copper coins. Mexican coins just have a sheen like no other when in BU.

Hello folks,
I see you are very much into Mexican coins. I have some 2 REALES 1865-S. They seem to be in gem or near gem conditions. I was told that they are probably 8k gold. My questions are these:
1) Where can find values for such coins? Does anyone know their worth?
2) What does the "S" stand for? Is it the mint mark (which mint?) (i think so) or the carver?
3) Is it wise to have them graded by PCGS?
A) (To change the subject alittle) What about finding values of coins from ships of foreign currency (especially french, spanish and portugese)?
Thanks for all of your help. As always, I surely do appreciate everything you folks council me on.
GOD Bless

Do you have pictures of these coins? According to Numismaster only Guatemala and Mexico made 2 reale pieces that year, and they were silver. As far as I know escudos were made of gold, not reales.
Now Spain did make 2 escudo pieces for that year. They were much purer than 8k (about 22k). Those could be worth anything between $25 to several thousand.

Welcome to the forum, djf1326invest. I am not sure I know which coin you are talking about, so I wouldn't list all of the things it "could" be and confuse you even more. Could you post a picture/scan, or detailed description of each side with legends? That should help us narrow it down.

Image: 1f_1_b.jpg13.27 KB Hello Folks,
Yes, it is me again.
I was able to get a picture of the mexican coin I have questioned to you before about. I have still done more research and have found nothing. From what I can understand is that there were NO gold coins in this time era. Which leads me to believe that either they are fake, or very rare. Now I need YOUR help to tell me what they are.
As alsways I appreciate your expertese and council. You sure do take the stress out of both this hobby and investments.
GOD Bless

Hello Folks,
WOW!!!! You folks are GRRRREEEAAATTT!!!!!! I knew I came to the right people to ask questions to. You got it right on the money. Thank you ever so much. I truly appreciate it!!!
Now you are saying that they are "Wedding Tolkens". I can see where mine is almost identical to the ones shown there (except mine has a "S" under the wreath), but the biggest question I have, "ARE THEY VALUABLE?" Is it worth investing into? When the date is 1865, were they truly made then; or are they fakes?
Again, thanks for all of your help with this one. You folks are GREAT!!
GOD Bless

Hi Twokopeki,
Liked your War of Independence coins. Recently I bought 2 Mexican Republican Cap & Ray 8 reals. They were quite expensive [at least for me!] but are in nice grade. I'll try to get pix.
Oh for the Morelos Pesos from 1957 - the 1960's [like the top lot] the silver content was only 10%.

with the Morelos Pesos from 1957-the 60's they were only 10% silver.
