Here is a bigger picture. "The words "LIBERTY" looks weird.

I see a die scratch above the 9 in the date. But I see nothing else that looks like a die crack? Sorry

On what area are you seeing a die crack?

The "L" in Liberty is not in line with the other letters. You see the "L" is higher?

A die crack is irregular. The area above the liberty looks like an older polishing mark on the field of the die in that area, or a sight contact with that corner of the die that dented it slightly. So the coin looks normal from what I'm seeing. It is a nice grade for a circulated example. On the reverse there is a contact mark at 5:00.

But a question: The area around the ear. That area looks like it needs a closer look at. It might be circulation/or an area that is affected by something? When you get a chance I would like to see that area magnified. No rush.

Maybe this close up will work. Maybe have to do a high resolution scan.

I guess it just shows circulation wear in the higher points. Still a nice coin for the age.

I am still wondering why it was in a 2x2 marked "die crack error" with a price of $10. It was included in a lot of Indian heads I bought as a bonus.

Probably a numismatically challenged person.

I personally don't understand these very slight errors anyhow if there is one on this coin. I am not too concerned since it was just thrown in as a bonus along with a AU War Nickel in a lot I bought. I think I will see if my second Whitman book needs that year and stick it in there. I don't see no obvious error on the coin and doubt it is worth $10 as marked.

I would agree that there doesn't appear to be anything to make the $10 price valid. Die cracks rarely add value to the coin, and if we can't see it, it would be too small to matter. You might want to find a new 2x2 without anything written on it.

I am really thinking I will just stick it in my Whitman book if I need it or just toss it in with the 20s and 30s Wheat cent I find roll searching. I usually throw them in as a bonus myself.
