Wow. The hits on the check, at most, would make this an MS63. Would definitely crack it out and send to PCGS.

Got home from work, took some shots with my fancy rig.

Very harsh lighting, a bit overexposed. Very unflattering pics, but a good image to see details.

I can make it look a bunch better!

For the record, I think it just barely deserves a 64, I think it will come back in a 63 holder.

Click here for full size. Then click on the magnifying glass for "too big".

Jon it a Beautiful Washington. You know I like toned coins and the color is beautiful and I bet it is even more so in hand. Anyway I would go for the cross over with PCGS. I believe MS63 for sure and maybe even a 64. I see no major reason why it shouldn't be. I have a MS66 and PGCS to boot that doesn't look that good. Go for it.

If this coin were slabbed in the "Omaha Bank Hoard", it would be MS65.

64+, 65 possibly. ANACS' grader must have lacked confidence.

Must have been the last coin graded on a Friday afternoon and the grader was in a hurry to go home. I'm seeing something far better than MS-62.

MS 64 maybe a * for the toning since it rocks.

It's definitely my type of coin. I find it very attractive. In terms of technical grading I think ANACS was a grade low. The pock marks hold it from going higher than a 63 IMO but the coin's got that look which would easily draw near gem prices on the market were it cracked out. I think you'd have a very good shot at an upgrade of a point if you re-subbed it. I just wouldn't plan on more than that if it were me.

It is headed to PCGS as of this morning. I cracked it out, figuring that it had a better shot at an upgrade than if I had asked for a crossover.
I agree with the folks that ventured the grade of MS63. Though I feel it has a shot at 64 it is a long shot. Those marks on the cheek are really there.
Though stranger things have happened.
Will get it back in a few weeks, will let you guys know.
I appreciate the responses. Keep 'em coming!

And!! I send in a '37 that I cracked out of an old small ANACS MS65holder. Hoping and praying that it would come back at grade. Never thought it would upgrade.

So I am having a great day! (Other than that '49)

Congrats, most of us could see this coin would pull much more than a 62 grade. Nice score on the 37 also.
